The representatives of UKROP will defend the interests of the Crimean Tatar people and they will fight together for a common future in a united Ukraine. The MP and the member of the presidium of UKROP political council Valentyn Didych stated it on May 11 after the Verkhovna Rada had adopted the resolution calling on the international organizations and world’s leaders to commemorate the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatars and to condemn violation of their rights and freedoms by the Russian Federation today.
“We, the MPs from the UKROP party, support the Crimean Tatar people and will fight together to defend their interests and Ukraine’s future,” said Valentyn Didych. According to him, the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar peoples are united not only by the common territory, but also by the common history, as the Crimean Tatars as well as the Ukrainians, have suffered from many losses, resettlements and deportations, organized by the Russian authorities. That is why the MPs from the inter-faction union UKROP on May 11supported the Parliament’s resolution calling on the international community to commemorate the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people and to condemn violation of their rights and freedoms by the Russian Federation.
“Supporting this resolution we show to the civilized world that Ukraine is together with the Crimean Tatars and supports them,” said Valentyn Didych. The MP has also added that this document will draw attention of the international community to persecution and discrimination of the Crimean Tatars by the Russian Federation and the so-called authorities of the Crimea. In addition, adoption of this resolution by the Ukrainian Parliament is an instrumental in the issue of recognizing the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people and bringing the Russian Federation to responsibility for the committed crimes.
