The village of Tsuman and the town of Kamin-Kashirsky in Volyn region will receive funds from the state budget for purchasing special equipment for waste utilization. This was announced by the MP from UKROP Iryna Konstankevych on the air of the “Avers” TV channel.

According to the politician, she has appealed to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine with the demand to include six communities in the 23rd constituency in the program for financing environmental activities. These are measures for the acquisition and use of special equipment for Kamin-Kashirsky, Olytsy, Manevytsy, Tsuman and Kivertsy communities and the reconstruction of a solid waste disposal site in the village of Lyubeshiv.

“The peculiarity of this program is that before submitting a request community should adopt a program of environmental protection measures and provide involvement of funds in individual projects from local budgets to the possible extent. I’d like to thank the local self-government and people who worked with documentation. We have managed to realize our idea,” said Iryna Konstankevych. – And we have already got the first funds – 3.1 million hryvnias for Kamin-Kashirsky and 1 million 85 thousand hryvnias for the village of Tsuman.”

Using funds of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, they will buy for Kamin-Kashirsky special equipment for environmentally safe separate collection, sorting and disposal of solid and liquid domestic wastes. And for Tsuman village, they will buy a lorry for collecting and transporting liquid wastes.

“These measures will allow not only to provide communities with quality services in collecting, transporting and disposing of domestic and industrial waste, but also to prevent the constant threat of their getting into groundwater and reservoirs,” added the MP.

Iryna Konstankevych has expressed hope that other communities will also receive funding for purchasing special equipment and ensuring proper conditions of solid waste landfills.
