The Ukrainian authorities do not take any effective steps to liberate the illegally imprisoned captives of the Kremlin regime. This was stated during a press briefing in the Verkhovna Rada by the head of UKROP, MP Taras Batenko.
“We do not see today any effective steps for the liberation of Ukrainian prisoners from Putin’s camps either from the President of Ukraine or from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or from the Ukrainian embassy in the Russian Federation,” said Taras Batenko.
The UKROP representatives consider that the Ukrainian diplomatic service should be more categorical in its demands to liberate the Kremlin’s captives. At the same time, political force has urged the European Union partners not to shake hands with the President Putin, but to emphasize the need to release Ukrainian political prisoners in each conversation with the Kremlin’s host.
“We should not give up. Every day protest actions should be held under the Russian embassies around the world, and not only in Ukraine. We should fight for the life of Sentsov, Kolchenko, of every Ukrainian citizen,” said the UKROP member.
In her turn, the MP from UKROP Iryna Konstankevych called on foreign diplomats to join the actions in support of Oleg Sentsov that these days are held in dozens of the European cities.
“Our party is preparing an appeal to all embassies in Ukraine, with the request to support the conscious citizens of Ukraine and European capitals in protection of the Ukrainian political prisoners and to assess the criminal actions of Putin and Russia. We insist that our position is shared and consolidated,” stressed Iryna Konstankevych.
