The top officials of the state are deliberately postponing the adoption of the Anti-corruption court law (draft law No. 7440 “On the Supreme Anticorruption Court”).
This was stated by the MP from UKROP Iryna Konstankevych on the air of Espresso TV TV channel.
“The whole society is looking forward to the solution of this issue with great impatience. This is another litmus test, which the parliament has to pass. It seems that these processes are delayed, and this is really frustrating,” said Iryna Konstankevych.
According to the MP, the President Petro Poroshenko wants to personally form the composition of the Anticorruption Court. Thus, the future body can become fully controlled by the authorities, as well as the recently “reformed” Supreme Court. On the other hand, state leadership is afraid of losing financial support from international donors that can stop crediting Ukraine in case of adoption of the presidential draft law on Anticorruption Court.
“In this struggle money will win, because the thirst for enrichment is the thing that guides the actions of many of our top officials. It is very unfortunate that the Ukrainian people become prisoner of the situation,” noted the UKROP member.
