Local budgets all over Ukraine go down due to the burden of maintaining health facilities. The head of UKROP, MP Taras Batenko has written it on his Facebook page.
He stressed that while President Poroshenko was making pathetic statements about the “big” reform of rural medicine, in the regions elementary medical and obstetric centers were massively closed.
“This is a real “rural medicine reform”. The authorities once again prove that to appreciate the lives of Ukrainians is beyond their interests,” said Taras Batenko.
The MP gave an example of Zolochiv district in Lviv region. Here in early May, the headship of the central district hospital proposed to close the medical and obstetric centers in ten villages.
“And the same is all over Ukraine! There are no funds to upgrade primary health centers and support their activities. And the same situation is in most regions,” said the UKROP member.
It is to be recalled, the MPs from UKROP require that the government stop the closure of medical institutions until the process of uniting territorial communities is completed. To this end, they appealed with an official inquiry to the Acting Minister of Healthcare Ulyana Suprun. The document was prepared by the UKROP members Taras Batenko, Viktor Shevchenko, Iryna Konstankevych, Oleksandr Dubinin, Valentyn Didych and non-factional MP Andriy Denysenko.
As it is known, the reform of the current Ministry of Health involves the creation of hospital districts with the network of medical institutions. According to the ministry’s plan, if there is a threat to human life, then the ambulance will come. Otherwise, the patient should come to the nearest hospital in his district on his own. Thus, rural medical and obstetric centers and a number of hospitals will be closed.
