The Ukrainian authorities have no strategy for developing and maintaining domestic entrepreneurship. This was stated at the opening of the VIII International Scientific and Technical Conference “Key aspects for the electrometallurgical industry development” by an MP from UKROP, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Oleksandr Dubinin.
“Ukraine has no economic strategy for developing and supporting entrepreneurship. The state needs to go through this path and decide which sector of the economy should be supported first,” stressed the parliamentarian.
According to him, the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada has developed a number of bills aimed at promoting development of entrepreneurship and support of domestic producers. However, the parliament does not hurry up to adopt such initiatives.
At the same time, Dubinin has noted that one of the locomotives of the Ukrainian economy could be, for example, metallurgy. Now metallurgists are making already about 17% of the country’s GDP. However, the overestimated tariffs for electricity hamper the development of this industry.
“It is necessary to have state approach and support of mining and electrometallurgy. The development of this industry will allow to raise the economy and create new jobs” said the MP.
