The current Cabinet of Ministers has been engaged in self-promotion during two years in a row instead of solving problems of the Ukrainian economy. This was stated by the head of Kyiv city organization of UKROP, a member of the party political council Bohdan Yaremenko on the air of 5th Channel.
“The government is busier with praising itself for subsidies and trying to implement a personal PR policy for the Prime Minister. Although the situation, when more than 60% of Ukrainians live below the poverty line and count on subsidies only, is killing for the economy,” said the UKROP member.
According to him, the current Cabinet of Ministers has no conceptual approaches to the development of the country at all. For example, the government encourages the Ukrainians to import electric cars from abroad in word, but does not create the infrastructure for their exploitation.
“In Ukraine there are no parking places or places where it is possible to charge such cars. A lot is said about this, but much less is done than it is necessary to do,” added Bohdan Yaremenko.
At the same time, he has noted that ministers are completely uninterested in Ukraine’s future prospects. In 10-15 years our country will not be able to produce electricity independently. The operating life of most nuclear reactors is almost exhausted, but the authorities do not offer any way out of the future crisis. Similarly, despite the loud statements by officials, the government does not do anything to reduce Ukraine’s energy dependence.
“We are much more dependent on Russian gas and oil than any country in Europe. These things would be talked about if someone in the government was interested in,” stressed Bohdan Yaremenko.
