The MP from UKROP Oleksandr Shevchenko has won nomination of the “politician of the year” in the independent prize “Recognition of the Year” in Ivano-Frankivsk.
“Politics is the highest degree of service to people! This is the statement of Lubomyr Husar, with whom I am going through my life. This award is an incentive for even more active work for the residents of Ivano-Frankivsk and Ukraine,” said the UKROP member.
Voting for the nominees lasted for a month at the website of Ivano-Frankivsk magazine “MISTO”. Oleksandr Shevchenko received an absolute majority of votes, bypassing Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv with a significant margin.
Oleksandr Shevchenko is a people’s deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the XVIII convocation, elected in Ivano-Frankivsk majority constituency № 83. The parliamentarian is a member of the inter-faction union of UKROP in the Verkhovna Rada.
During the events at Euromaidan, Oleksandr Shevchenko helped the activists with financial and material resources. On the basis of TC “Bukovel” there were organized camps for health improvement and rehabilitation of the victims injured on Maidan. He has initiated programs for rehabilitation and recreation for the members of families of servicemen who left the Crimea and moved to the mainland Ukraine.
