The Ukrainian authorities are not adequately resisting the Russian aggression. Under conditions of war, there should not have been any diplomats or diplomatic missions from the Russian Federation. This was written by the head of Kyiv city organization of UKROP, Chairman of the Board of “Maidan of Foreign Affairs” Fund Bohdan Yaremenko on his Facebook page.
“Diplomatic relations and war are incompatible. But the Ukrainian authorities, who have got used to taking more care of the interests of private corrupt benefits, are not accustomed to thinking about their actions and how they look from the point of view of international law. Until their nose is rubbed in it,” he wrote.
At the same time, the UKROP member called the decision of the Ukrainian president to expel 13 employees of Russian diplomatic establishments because of the poisoning of former intelligence officer Sergei Skripal to be right. Showing solidarity with the United Kingdom, Ukraine not only found itself in a good company, but also cemented in the anti-Russian coalition. However, the Ukrainian leadership even here could not do without exaggeration.
“I think that the press service of the President of Ukraine this time could do without euphemisms – as it doesn’t concern the expulsion of diplomats, but of 13 employees of the Russian diplomatic institutions in Ukraine, which Ukrainian law-enforcement agencies have established as representatives of the special services of the enemy state,” said Bohdan Yaremenko.
According to him, now in the world a new stage of Western counteraction to Russia begins. The UKROP member suggested that Europe and the United States would not abandon the concept of “containment and dialogue”. However, this policy, most likely, will take on sharper methods for Russia, and dialogue will be increasingly limited.
According to Bohdan Yaremenko, this is evidenced by at least a few facts. First, all Russian elite turned into an organized criminal group responsible for aggressive subversive policy for the West. At the same time, the head of the Russian state is assigned personally responsible for the orders to destroy people. Putin is actually introduced as the leader of the Russian organized group.
According to the representative of UKROP, such an approach allows the United States, the United Kingdom and other Western countries to switch to political, informational and legal methods of deterring the Russian Federation.
The main efforts will be aimed at fighting against Russian financial assets. The responsibility for proving their non-criminal origin is likely to be imposed on the Russian side.
Thus Putin has driven Russia into a corner. It will be difficult or even impossible to get out of confrontation with the West without loss of image at home.
“He is forced to continue, although there are fewer people around him who tend to believe in the success of the project. Do not steal, do not lie, behave consistently – this is a tactic that will help Ukraine in this situation,” stressed Bohdan Yaremenko.
