The MPs from UKROP propose to restrict budget subsidies to large agro holdings and direct public funds to support small and medium-sized agricultural producers. To this end, a draft law No. 8182 “On amendments to Article 18 of the “Final Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On state support of agriculture in Ukraine” on improving justice in the issue of state support for the animal farming” was registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
The document was prepared by the MPs Taras Batenko, Iryna Konstankevych, Oleksandr Dubinin, Vitaliy Kupriy, Oleksandr Shevchenko and Viktor Shevchenko.
“The state should help those people who really need it. Instead, the authorities give the opportunity to earn another billion to the profitable business of oligarch Kosyuk,” stated the MP Oleksandr Shevchenko, referring to the company “Myronivsky Hliboproduct”.
The UKROP representatives noted: in 2017 4 billion hryvnias were allocated from the state budget to support agricultural producers. However, due to the lack of any restrictions on the amount of subsidy, more than a third of these funds were received by the enterprises associated with Myronivsky Hliboproduct Company.
“The authorities do not cease to split up public funds using the old “schemes”. Distribution of subsidies in support of producers of agricultural products cannot be called with other words. The state subsidies of the agro oligarch Kosyuk in 2017 exceeded the total amount of preferential loans to farmers by 20 times,” said the head of UKROP Taras Batenko.
In general, the enterprises of the oligarch Yuriy Kosyuk, the owner of Myronivsky Hliboproduct, received 1 billion 400 million hryvnias.
“It seems that the lack of restrictions on the amount of subsidies is not accidental. Especially considering that this group of companies belongs to the fellow of the president,” stresses UKROP.
