The MPs from UKROP propose to increase pensions for the citizens who have more than forty years of insurance experience. The draft law No. 8187 “On amendments to article 25 of the Law of Ukraine “On compulsory state pension insurance” on appropriate pension provision for the persons with forty and more years of insurance experience” was prepared by the MPs Taras Batenko, Iryna Konstankevych, Valentyn Didych, Oleksandr Dubinin, Vitaliy Kupriy and Viktor Shevchenko.

The document proposes to change the mechanism for pension accounting for this category of citizens and increase the payout ratio from 1% to 1.35% for one year of insurance experience.

“It is necessary to revise the mechanism of pension provision for citizens who have been paying insurance contributions over 40 years. This is a fair decision,” states the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots”.

The authors of the bill noted that increased pensions will be received mainly by residents of villages and small settlements. Due to a small alternative of workplaces outside the big cities, most villagers have worked during all their lives at a single workplace with a small salary. In this regard, their pensions are considerably lower than the payments received by the residents of the capital or large industrial cities.

“The state should take care of the villagers who have been working diligently for the development of the Ukrainian economy for decades. We are obliged to provide a decent old age to all Ukrainian pensioners,” are convinced the UKROP representatives.
