The representatives of the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots” propose to raise salaries for the employees of preschool and out-of-school educational institutions. The relevant bill No. 8188 “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on restoring justice in the issue of remuneration for teachers of pre-school and out-of-school educational institutions” was developed by the MPs Taras Batenko, Iryna Konstankevych, Valentyn Didych, Oleksandr Dubinin, Vitaliy Kupriy and Viktor Shevchenko.

The authors of the document stress that the increase of teachers’ salaries is stipulated by the basic Law “On Education”, which was adopted by the parliament in autumn. However, the level of remuneration for teachers working in the institutions of preschool and out-of-school education has not changed, since the Verkhovna Rada did not make appropriate changes to other specialized laws.

“The bill proposes to increase salaries for the teachers working in the institutions of preschool and out-of-school education. Actually this is not even a new initiative, but a restoration of justice. The increase of wages is stipulated by the Law “On Education”, the norms of which are not fulfilled,” explained the UKROP representatives.

In case of adoption of the bill, the salary of the staff of kindergartens and out-of-school educational institutions of the lowest qualification category will be equal to three minimum wages, currently it is about 11 thousand hryvnias. Payments to employees of each subsequent category will be increased at least by 10%. In addition, the document proposes to set monthly bonuses for teachers.

“Thus, the educators with more than three years of work experience will receive an additional 10% to the salary. For over 10 and 20 years’ period of service an increase by 20% and 30% to be provided respectively,” stresses the UKROP party.
