We will not stop active actions and will do our best to liberate the Crimea and all the occupied territories from the aggressor. We insist on breaking the diplomatic relations with Russia, a country that has brazenly violated the borders of a sovereign state. Exactly four years ago, on March 16, 2014, a pseudo-referendum took place at gunpoint of the Russian military and under dictation of the Kremlin puppeteers, which had nothing to do with the law, and even more so with justice. Having violated all international, Ukrainian and Russian norms and treaties, using the temporary weakness of Ukraine, chaos in the country after the escape of corrupt President Yanukovych and his henchmen, the Russian Federation seized the Crimea. To cover the brazen occupation of a part of the Ukrainian lands, the Kremlin pulled the scenario with predetermined voting results.
In those sad and difficult days in the history of the Crimea, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People publicly called on the residents of the peninsula not to recognize the “referendum” and not to go to polling stations. The Crimean Tatars and the overwhelming majority of the Crimean voters boycotted the so-called “referendum”.
We would like to remind that the citizens who contributed to and facilitated the holding of illegal elections in the Crimea will be punished in accordance with the criminal law of Ukraine and international law. We know for sure that we are out of the way with those who cannot determine “Whose is the Crimea?” Unfortunately, during four years, many people have turned out to be so. During twenty-three years the Ukrainian government and parliament failed to restore the national-territorial autonomy of the Crimean Tatar people. This led to the fact that the Russian flags appeared in the Crimea. We urge those who are now in power not to repeat this shameful mistake.
At the same time, we thank those who support and back us every day. And with these people, we will fight for the return of the Crimea and the restoration of historical justice. As the truth is on our side!
