UKROP will participate in elections in the united territorial communities in all regions, where they will be held on April 29, 2018. This decision was made on March 13 at the XV Congress of the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots”.

“We should go full force in order to win this election. The upcoming campaign will be complicated, we are constantly feeling the pressure of the authorities, but I believe that there are many decent candidates in the UKROP party, who are supported by people in the regions,” said Taras Batenko, the head of UKROP.

According to the politician, for the representatives of democratic opposition political forces it will be harder to win the upcoming elections in the UTC compared to last year. Voting was scheduled primarily for those communities that are under the influence of the authorities.

Instead, the UTCs with fewer opportunities to use administrative resources will remain without acting local authorities. Despite this, UKROP will nominate its candidates for the first elections of deputies of village, town and city councils and heads in all regions of Ukraine where the vote will take place.

It is to be recalled, on February 16 the Central Election Commission appointed the first elections of deputies of village, town and city councils and corresponding village, town and city heads in 40 united territorial communities.

According to the decision of the CEC, on April 29 the elections will be held in 4 city, 14 town and 22 village UTCs in 17 regions of Ukraine.

According to the Central Election Commission, from October 25, 2015 until December 24, 2017, 667 first local elections in the united territorial communities were appointed in Ukraine. Thus after the elections on April 29, 2018 the total number of all the first elections in the UTC appointed by the CECs will be 707.
