On March 10 in Kyiv region the deputy of Ukrainka town council from UKROP Maksim Vinnik was attacked. According to the UKROP member, he was attacked by an honored citizen of the town, winner of the European championship for free fight Andriy Nagornyi. The attacker is a supporter of the building on the embankment of Ukrainka, against with the deputies from UKROP are arguing.
The incident took place in the city center with the participation of witnesses. Having seen the deputy from UKROP Maksim Vinnik, Andriy Nagornyi attacked him and repeatedly injured him physically, which was confirmed officially. Now the UKROP member is in the town hospital. According to a previous diagnosis, Maksim Vinnik has got a brain concussion.
“This assault is a consequence of our consistent position against the building on the embankment of Ukrainka and distortion of its natural appearance by selfish developers. This contradicts the desire of the town residents, who have repeatedly expressed their position against the building. And we as deputies stand with the community. So, we have such consequences,” said Maksim Vinnik.
“Deputies from UKROP Maksim Vinnik and Tetyana Kucher were consistently advocating the interests of the community. We are against distortion of the promenade of Ukrainka, which is a landmark of the city. It would be desirable to believe that this beating of the UKROP member will be properly investigated by the law enforcement agencies and come to trial. The guilty should be punished,” said Volodymyr Maybozhenko, the first deputy chairman of the Regional Council, chairman of UKROP in Kyiv region.
It should be noted that after public hearings on the building of the embankment of Ukrainka, last weekend, the car wheel of the deputy of Ukrainka town council Tetyana Kucher was damaged by the unknown.
Reference of UKROP. Currently, one of the projects of the building on the embankment, which defends the attackers on UKROP members, provides construction of a 12-storeyed hotel, retail and office premises, against which the town residents are categorically arguing.
