The “Ukrainian Association of Patriots” is ready for cooperation and dialogue with democratic political forces in order to change the existing system of power in the next parliamentary elections. The head of the party Taras Batenko stated this at a press conference on the results of the XIV Congress of UKROP.
“We are ready for a dialogue with other opposition forces, including those already represented in parliament. We can work together and form one program in order to change the existing system of power in the upcoming elections,” said Taras Batenko.
According to him, democratic forces should also unite because the authorities are beginning to actively clean out the opposition. In the opinion of the politician, only a common consolidated position of the non-ruling parties can stop this trend.
For his part, the head of Volyn Regional Council Ihor Palytsya has noted that cooperation with other political forces does not mean that UKROP will distribute the constituencies and positions as the representatives of the current parliamentary coalition did in 2015.
“We will not bargain with someone in order to let our candidate pass in one district in return for the support of one or another political force. We have ideals, principles and desire to work. If someone shares our position – we are ready to cooperate with such politicians,” added Ihor Palytsya.
He has also noted that at the next elections, UKROP candidates will be present in all constituencies in Ukraine. The political force has enough worthy people who can win the confidence of the Ukrainians.
At the same time, the UKROP representatives have reported that they are ready to take part in formation of a new coalition in the next convocation of the Verkhovna Rada. However, this will happen only if the majority is united on the basis of common ideals, and not for the purpose of distributing positions in government.
