The chairman of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko was elected head of the party. This decision was taken on March 3 at the XIV Congress of the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots”. The candidacy of Taras Batenko was supported by 403 delegates.

The chairman of Kryvyi Rih city organization of UKROP, head of the ATO Veterans’ Council of the party Mykola Kolesnyk and the head of Sumy regional organization of the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots” Vladyslav Lugovyi also ran for this position. As a result, Mykola Kolesnyk received 130 votes, and Vladyslav Lugovyi – 56.

“Today our country first of all needs a force that can create and bring to people a realistic program for the revival and wealth increase of the Ukrainians. I believe that the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots” has got the potential not only to come to power, but also to become an engine of quality changes and revival of Ukraine,” said the newly elected party leader Taras Batenko.

The politician has criticized the current Ukrainian authorities for lacking recipes for the victory in war, continuation of diplomatic and economic relations with the aggressor and the failure in fight against corruption.

As long as ATO veterans are going with a begging bowl in the officials’ offices searching for truth, the killers of the patriots on Maidan are walking free. While the authorities are driving medicine and education in a deadlock with half-way reforms, brainy people and gifted hands are looking for a better fate abroad, said the UKROP member.

“Instead of a clear plan for the development of the country, the authorities continue to palm off people with promises, and line their pockets, having rest in the Maldives and trading with hostile Russia,” said Taras Batenko.

According to the MP, UKROP should return the Ukrainians the faith in themselves, their state and a worthy future on their own land.

“The major task is to return at least partly the millions of compatriots who have already found better conditions abroad. We need to carry out such reforms, so that the entrepreneurs once again believe in themselves, and the poor people stop feeling as beggars,” said the head of UKROP.
