The long-awaited press conference of the President Petro Poroshenko has disappointed the society. The head of state was unable to say anything new, despite the fact that he had avoided communication with journalists for more than a year. This was stated by the MP from UKROP Iryna Konstankevych on the air of Espresso TV channel.
“Unfortunately, the expected press conference only disappointed. We did not hear anything new. The position of the president is only that the authorities are fighting against the populists, while the head of state remains a populist himself,” said the MP.
According to Iryna Konstankevych, during a two-hour press conference, the president tried to talk about achievements, which in reality do not exist. He spoke about the challenges that our state faces, but did not propose any ways to resolve them.
In the opinion of the MP, Petro Poroshenko calls the Ukrainian people as his main ally in vain. 70% of Ukrainians live below the poverty line and are unlikely to support again the president who is unable to solve social problems.
“Poroshenko’s statements show his intention to run for the president. However, it is clear that he will not be able to change the situation – the ratings of the head of state and his political power are too low,” added the parliamentarian.
