The head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Hontareva should hold responsibility for the destruction of the state banking system. This was stated on the air of “Pryamiy” TV channel by the chairman of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko.
“For a long time, Ms. Hontareva has not worked already. She has actually destroyed the Ukrainian banking system. We should deal with it,” said the UKROP member.
He has noted that the head of the NBU has escaped a public report to the parliament on her activities for a long time. However, the Verkhovna Rada should finally asses Valeriya Hontareva’s work, since this is the Parliament that nominates one or another candidate for this post.
“This means that we give the candidate a chance to show oneself in this office. Then we want to assess his or her activities according to the report. But if there is no report, who will hold responsibility?” asked Taras Batenko.
The parliamentarian has reminded that during the activity of the current head of the National Bank of Ukraine, the state debt of Ukraine reached two trillion hryvnias. If we divide the accumulated sum among all working citizens, then everyone has to return 127 thousand hryvnias. This burden will lie upon the shoulders of entire generations of the Ukrainians, because the authorities failed to invest in loans for economic development.
“Debts will have to be returned sooner or later. But the authorities don’t want to change anything. Credits are again absorbed by corruption” stated the MP.
