The MPs from UKROP require that the Cabinet of Ministers immediately recalculate and pay pensions to the pensioners of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies.
The corresponding appeal was addressed to the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman by the MPs from the "Ukrainian Association of Patriots" Taras Batenko, Oleksandr Dubinin, Iryna Konstankevych, Valentyn Didych, Vitaliy Kupriy, Oleksandr Shevchenko and Viktor Shevchenko.
The parliamentarians have noted that recalculation of pensions for these categories of citizens had to be carried out on January 1, 2018. However, the government has postponed the entry into force of the relevant resolution (No. 704 "On the provision of military support for servicemen, persons in rank and file and commanding officers and some other persons") exactly for one year until January 1, 2019.
Such a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers has already resulted in mass protests in the capital and regions of Ukraine.
"The result of such actions of the government was the fact that military pensioners, who for many years have duly fulfilled their duty, remained for at least one year without a fair pension," stress the UKROP representatives.
The authors of the appeal called on the Prime Minister to oblige the heads of the specialized agencies to immediately approve orders on the procedure for providing financial support to the military.
Besides the MPs from UKROP have appealed to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy with the requirement to immediately include in the agenda of Parliament the issue on recalculation of pensions for the military.
This concerns a draft resolution No. 7492 "On some issues of retirement provision for persons discharged from military service, and some other persons". If the document is adopted, the Verkhovna Rada will oblige the government to carry out recalculation of payments from the beginning of this year, as it was planned.
The draft resolution has already received a positive assessment of the profile committee, which recommended the Parliament to approve a resolution in principle and in general.
