Among the representatives of the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots” there are many decent candidates who can run for the president of Ukraine. This was stated at the meeting of the UKROP political council by its chairman, MP Taras Batenko.

“UKROP is serious about the presidential elections. The party has worthy candidates who can run for the highest office in the country and compete for it alongside with the others” said Taras Batenko.

According to the decision of the party congress, the candidate for the post of the head of state will be elected in accordance with the procedure of primaries, following the example of the developed democratic countries in the world.

Initially, the candidates will be nominated in the local organizations of UKROP. After discussion of the submitted proposals exactly one month will be given for registration of candidates. Then all the official applicants will have five months to conduct their campaigns.

Then within 101 days, regional organizations will vote for candidates in primaries. And only then the candidate for president from UKROP will be nominated at the next party congress in autumn.

“UKROP has been permanently in the electoral process since its inception in 2015. We are among the top five political parties that compete for mandates in village and city constituencies of the united territorial communities. I believe that this is a very good result for a young political party,” said Taras Batenko.

The MP has noted that the young political force do not receive funds from the state budget, unlike the parties that have their own factions in parliament. By the way, despite state support, most of them are not even among the five leaders according to the results of recent elections in territorial communities.

As it is known, the regular elections of the President of Ukraine are to take place on March 31, 2019. On October 27, 2019 the elections to the Verkhovna Rada are scheduled.
