In Dnipropetrovsk region in the building of Pavlograd city council the OSCE representatives met with the miners of the coal mining company DTEK-Pavlogradugol, who went on a hunger strike 12 days ago. One of the hunger strikers Volodymyr Bugayov has told about it.

According to him, they were interested in the conditions of the protest and the health condition of the hunger strikers.

The miners told the OSCE representatives in detail that such a radical action was caused by oppression and dismissal of the representatives of the newly formed independent trade union of miners. The hunger strikers complained that none of the representatives of DTEK-Pavlogradugol had come for negotiations during the whole time of the action.

Volodymyr Bugayov said that his state of health and the health condition of his colleagues is satisfactory. Today they were examined by doctors who took the necessary medical tests.

The OSCE representatives, for their part, promised to talk to the representatives of the coal mining company, make a detailed report on the situation and make it public.

It is to be recalled, the miners Volodymyr Bugayov and Andriy Karpenko started an indefinite hunger strike on December 29, 2017. The miners are protesting against oppression and dismissal of the members of the newly formed trade union.
