The 2017th was not a turning point for Ukraine. Instead, it demonstrated the true purpose of today’s officials in power – to rebuild authoritarianism in the country and continue to plunder Ukraine and its citizens, as the previous leadership of the state did. This was written by the Head of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko on his Facebook page.
“Unfortunately, the year that is now ending has not become a turning point for Ukraine. The authorities in 2017 were constantly trying to defame all achievements of the Revolution of Dignity,” stressed the MP.
The Head of the UKROP political council has noted that during this year the current authorities have failed to change the life of Ukrainians. The much-touted increase in salaries and pensions was eaten by inflation, and because of the conflict in the east people continue to die.
Moreover, everything indicates that the war is even beneficial to the leaders of the state, because it distracts society from corrupt officials and provides multimillion contracts for pro-government businessmen, which have no sense from the point of view of defense.
“We have to force the authorities to win and not to earn! But first of all it is necessary to overcome corruption. The 2018th should become the last year for corrupt officials,” stressed Taras Batenko.
The parliamentarian has noted the rapid increase in support of the opposition forces in response to the authorities’ actions. This primarily concerns the UKROP party, which only over the last year has been joined by more than 500 deputies from all regions. As a result, the party has won the fourth place among all political forces in the country.
The UKROP representatives understand: in order to overcome corruption in politics, the political elite should be changed. For that end the reform of electoral system and adoption of a new Electoral Code are needed.
“This is here where the secret of eternal life of the current authorities hides. We believe in support of the Ukrainians, in your support. Together, we will overcome all the difficulties, and victory will be with the patriots!” summed up the MP.
