During the dialogue particular attention was given to the need to involve parliamentarians of two states in discussing measures that will help preserve historical and cultural monuments in Ukraine and Poland. In addition, the participants discussed the development of cultural, youth exchanges and other cooperation programs.
The parties also agreed on the importance of cooperation in the field of security and defense, and on the exceptional significance that our countries have in ensuring territorial integrity, sovereignty and mutual development.
In particular, Jan Pieklo has informed Taras Batenko that from January 1, 2018, Poland will become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council after Ukraine. According to the foreign ambassador, his country hopes to support our country and is ready to be fully engaged in discussion on achievement of sustainable peace in Ukraine.
“Fulfilling this honorable mission, Poland needs expert support and assistance from Ukraine and, in its turn, is ready to become Ukraine’s voice in resolving the issues on peace-building in eastern Ukraine,” said Jan Pieklo.
For his part, the Head of the UKROP political council has noted that the deputies-representatives of the political force at all the levels are proponents of the positive development of Ukrainian-Polish relations.
