UKROP is the first among post-Maidan political forces in Ukraine that has approved the creation of the party organization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Such a decision was adopted on December 8 at the constituent meeting of the newly formed party cell that was held at the head office of UKROP in Kyiv.
The ethnic Crimean Tatar Erfan Kudusov was unanimously elected the chairman of the organization.
“My vision is, first of all, to attract a wide range of the public. We will talk about the return of the Crimea not only from the public, but also from the political platform,” said the newly elected head of the organization.
According to him, the activists of UKROP, who have become members of the party cell, will work to prevent forgetting the Crimean issue at the state and international levels.
Besides, members of the organization will take up the problems of internally displaced persons from the peninsula.
At the same time, the head of the Party Secretariat Denys Borysenko has noted that UKROP has been looking for a long time for people who sincerely care for the Crimea and who are ready to help the political force do everything for its return.
“This is a happy day for the party. I hope that in the future it will be happy for the whole Ukraine, since UKROP is moving forward and seeks to change the country for the better. We expect that the group of the Crimeans who have joined us will help the party in this,” said Denys Borysenko.
For his part, Bohdan Yaremenko, the Head of Kyiv city organization of UKROP, Chairman of the Board of Maidan of Foreign Affairs Fund, has added that the creation of the Crimean organization is not only a symbolic decision, but a real step towards the return of the peninsula to Ukraine.
“This is a very important signal to everyone around us that we live with the thoughts of a free Ukrainian Crimea. The Crimeans need to know about our intentions and the desire to work together to return the peninsula to Ukraine,” stressed Bohdan Yaremenko.
The cell will be represented by the UKROP members-residents of the occupied Crimea who now reside in different regions of Ukraine.
