Ukraine has done nothing to attract the attention of the international community to the aggravation of the situation in Luhansk. This behavior is a failure of domestic diplomacy. This was stated by the Head of Kyiv city organization of UKROP, the Chairman of the Board of “Maidan of Foreign Affairs” Fund Bohdan Yaremenko in the program “Right to Rule” on the air of “1+1” TV channel.
According to the media, after the conflict between the leaders of the so called LNR, about two hundred units of military equipment from the occupied Donetsk and the Russian Federation were relocated to Luhansk.
“In terms of the international response, Ukraine has done nothing, except for the appeal to the OSCE SMM. There is a necessity to respond, we should pay attention to the fact that this is Russia that is behind all this and our citizens are under constant threat,” said the UKROP member.
At the same time, Bohdan Yaremenko has highlighted the president’s inaction. According to the Constitution, the head of state should form foreign policy and represent Ukraine in the international arena. But the official Kyiv has completely ignored the events in Luhansk.
According to the representative of UKROP, Ukrainian diplomats should at least convene the meeting of the Security Council and inform about the disappearance of one of the LNR leaders Ihor Plotnytsky, as well as about the relocation of a large number of military equipment to the occupied territories.
“We understand that it is about redistribution of funds. Maybe that’s why the Ukrainian authorities have decided not to disclose anything,” suggested Bohdan Yaremenko.
According to him, in the fourth year of the war the main sources of inflow of funds to the occupied territories are still the sale of coal and contraband traffic of goods to Ukraine. It is clear that all this cannot happen without the awareness of the officials from Kyiv.
