The “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” will delegate candidates for the first elections of deputies on the positions of heads of village, town and city councils in the united territorial communities, which will be held on December 24.

The appropriate decision was made during the second round of the 13th UKROP Party Congress, which was held on November 8 in Kyiv.

“We want to increase our strength. So that in a year, the number of regions where UKROP has leadership positions could be doubled or even tripled. We want to ensure that the party, due to people’s trust, has confidently got into the Verkhovna Rada,” said Taras Batenko, the Head of the UKROP political council.

As it is known, the local elections will take place in 51 UTC in 17 regions of Ukraine. Most elections will be held in five regions – in seven communities in Mykolayiv region, seven – in Poltava, six - in Khmelnytsky, four – in Chernihiv and four in Chernivtsi.

In addition, during the Congress, the party decided to participate in the elections of deputies to the village council of Kozeletska UTC in Chernihiv region, which will be held on December 17.

Meanwhile, commenting on the results of the UKROP party in the local elections on October 29, Taras Batenko stressed the high rates of political force among all-Ukrainian parties: “UKROP is in the top-five. Our party is one of those opposition forces that the authorities are afraid of. Also, we were among those who were subjected to the greatest pressure from the administrative resource. We also feel this pressure now.”

It is to be recalled, on October 29 the first local elections of deputies and heads of village, town and city councils of the united territorial communities were held. They took place in 201 UTC in all regions of Ukraine.

UKROP took part in the elections in 173 UTC and won the fourth place among all political parties with a result of 9.5%. This is the largest local election in the country since 2015.
