The assassination attempt against the MP from the Radical Party Ihor Mosiychuk shows not only the weakness of the law-enforcement system and intelligence services, but also the defenselessness of politicians, primarily the opposition. Such opinion was expressed by the chairman of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko.

“The cases are being investigated just for the sake of appearance – as it is with the outrageous murder of our party fellow Mykhailo Binusov, who headed UKROP in Cherkasy. Almost one month has passed, but in response to our requests about the investigation, we only receive formal replies and slim excuses,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

In this regard, Taras Batenko advises the current authorities not to be surprised at growing protest moods in the state: “If none of the citizens feel secure, cutting the red ribbons and mantra “everything is good” will not help.”

Besides, the MP raises the question: if the authorities pass the buck to the Kremlin, then why they do not take countermeasures? At the same time, Taras Batenko draws attention to the lacking results in investigation into the killings of journalist Pavel Sheremet, former deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Denis Voronenkov, assassination attempt against the sniper Amina Okuyeva and her husband, volunteer Adam Osmayev.

“Why haven’t we still cut off diplomatic relations with the country we have been fighting against for the fourth year, instead we are seeing the growth of trade? If the authorities are not able to protect their compatriots, what for do we need such a government?” emphasizes the UKROP member.

As it is known, in the evening of October 25, an explosion occurred in Solomyansky district of Kyiv. As a result of the incident, two people were killed. In addition, two people, including the MP Ihor Mosiichuk, were injured at various degrees of severity and are now in the hospital.

It is to be recalled, on the night of September 28 in Cherkasy the head of the UKROP regional organization Mykhailo Binusov was shot. UKROP associates this violent crime with the uncompromising position of Mykhailo Markovych and the intention to overcome corruption in Cherkasy City Council.
