The “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” is a leader in the ranking of Ivano-Frankivsk residents’ sympathies. This is evidenced by the results of the survey, which was held on September 27-30 by the Firtka News Agency.
During a survey, the respondents were asked which party’s electoral list they would vote for if the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Ivano-Frankivsk City Council were held today.
In particular, if the elections to the Ukrainian parliament were held now, 29.31% of the interviewed residents of Ivano-Frankivsk would vote for the UKROP party. The list of Svoboda would receive a bit less votes – 24.73%. More than 5% of votes would be received by the Batkivshchyna party and Samopomich.
It should be noted that adherence to the UKROP party in the city has increased almost three times during two years. In December 2015, 10.29% of the residents supported the party at the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, and in December 2016 – 17.08%.
At the same time, if the elections to Ivano-Frankivsk City Council were held today, UKROP would have 27.18% support of the local respondents. A little more votes would be obtained by Svoboda – 29.31%. More than 5% of votes of the residents of Ivano-Frankivsk would be given to the Batkivshchyna party and Samopomich.
Meanwhile, in December 2015, at the elections to Ivano-Frankivsk City Council UKROP was supported by 11.83% of the local residents, and in December 2016 – by 14%.
The Head of Ivano-Frankivsk city organization of UKROP Oleh Holovensky has noted that he has been constantly monitoring the dynamics of electoral sympathy.
“During the last two years, that is after the local elections, the UKROP rating in Ivano-Frankivsk (actually the only one among the other parties) has demonstrated almost threefold growth,” said the UKROP member. – Most of the parties, on the contrary, are “falling”. It is particularly noticeable for the BPP Solidarity.
Oleh Holovensky is convinced that UKROP’s electoral leadership in Ivano-Frankivsk is not a surprise, as it is a result of the work of a big team of party members and their sympathizers: “Despite the fact that the UKROP faction in the City Council is the only opposition to the informal majority (BPP – Svoboda – Batkivshchyna), our deputies are the most active. Our party organization, as well as our public reception office, are also working actively. An important factor in the rating of the UKROP city organization is the higher rating of the MP from UKROP Oleksandr Shevchenko, who has unquestionable authority with Ivano-Frankivsk residents.”
It should be noted that the current survey was carried out among the residents of the city from the age of 18. 855 respondents took part in it. A margin of error is 2.97%.
