The Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Head of the Security Service Vasyl Hrytsak should take personal control over the investigation of the murders of opposition politicians, in particular, the head of Cherkasy regional organization of UKROP, Mykhailo Binusov. This was stated during a speech from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada by the head of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko.

“We demand that the Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov and the Head of the Security Service Vasyl Hrytsak take these cases and the investigation of Mykhailo Binusov’s assassination under their personal control. We want that criminality couldn’t dictate who will be the next either to us or to you,” said Taras Batenko.

He has also added that Ukraine has recently begun to roll down to the level of criminality of the 1990s. In this turbulent war, it is very easy to fight against the representatives of opposition parties who fight with impudence in various governmental bodies. The representatives of UKROP constantly feel like being in crosshairs, both literally and figuratively.

“We believe that in a situation when the authorities are unable and unwilling to fulfill their primary duty – to protect the citizens’ lives, the society should self-organize for protecting the rights, freedoms and property of the Ukrainians,” said Taras Batenko.

It is to be recalled, overnight into September 28 in Cherkasy the head of the regional organization of UKROP Mykhailo Binusov was shot. That night, a car belonging to Nataliya Kokitko, the chairman of the UKROP faction in Zhytomyr Regional Council, was undermined. Two months earlier, the head of Korostyshiv district organization of UKROP, Yevhen Didkivsky, was attacked.
