The high officials of the law enforcement bodies have not yet responded to the outrageous murder of the Chairman of Cherkasy regional organization of the UKROP party Mykhailo Binusov. This was stated during a press conference in Cherkasy by the chairman of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko.
“Today, the law enforcement system cynically ignores the opinion and position of civic activists and political parties. Of course, we will raise the alarm and talk about it from the rostrums, demanding result from those people,” he stressed.
The MP has noted that the representatives of UKROP came to Cherkasy in order to protect the city residents and the region from banditry, which is spreading around the country because of the law-enforcers’ inaction.
In his turn, the MP from UKROP Oleksandr Dubinin, urged local residents not to keep silence if they know any information that could help the investigation.
“If all of us keep silence, then such a situation may spread from one city throughout the country,” said the representative of UKROP.
The MPs called on the Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, the Interior Ministry Arsen Avakov and the Head of the Security Service Vasyl Hrytsak to take the investigation of this cynical murder under their personal control.
They have also announced that on October 3 they will appeal to the MPs from the rostrum of Parliament with a request to support a similar appeal to the leadership of the country.
In his turn, Cherkasy City Mayor Anatoliy Bondarenko has stressed that law enforcement agencies will be required to investigate activities of the Housing and Municipal Services Department.
“We also call on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau to conduct a full audit of the department’s activities. Human life is more important than the millions that go on laundering of the well-known criminal group, called once by Lutsenko. God forbid that someone else dies,” he said.
Earlier, in its official statement the UKROP party connected the murder of the chairman of Cherkasy regional party organization Mykhailo Binusov with his anti-corruption activity in the City Council.
