In Volyn region the authorities are using administrative pressure to prevent the victory of the local representatives of UKROP at the elections of heads and deputies to 19 united territorial communities on October 29. This was stated by Volyn regional organization of the UKROP party.
“Heads of affiliated departments of district state administrations call directors of schools, teachers, physicians for the so-called talks, during which they say directly: run in the elections from any party, but not from UKROP. People are blackmailing with the loss of work,” says the statement.
From personal sources, the local party representatives have learned that Volyn Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting is urgently collecting information on the number of employees who are deputies of local governmental bodies, including the councils created in the UTC, and about the places where the elections will take place. According to UKROP in Volyn, the corresponding official letter was sent by the management to its subordinate structural units.
“This is a certain action plan concerning probable candidates for the positions of heads of the united territorial communities. Volodymyr Hunchyk, the head of Volyn Regional State Administration, personally meets with them. There are two methods of pressure during such communication: promising everything under the sun or warning about the probable risks for the personal reputation. It should be added that such meetings on elections take place in his working office in the RSA,” emphasize the local representatives of UKROP.
In this regard, the UKROP members have appealed to the representatives of Petro Poroshenko Bloc “Solidarity” to stop manipulative methods and intimidate people who do not support their position and do not want to deal with them. “It’s time to stop ordering dirty information campaigns against your opponents. Patriotism – is not violence, not a lie and no usurpation of power! Stop building a fence of split in the communities. Do not forget: the time of your staying on your positions will end,” emphasize the UKROP representatives in Volyn.
At the same time, the representatives of the party have reminded that at the elections to the UTC in December 2016 and April 2017, UKROP was ranked first among the political forces that competed for the parliamentary mandates.
“During the recent election campaigns, people who expressed their support to us and who ran in the elections from UKROP, experienced administrative pressure from the authorities, which were unquestioningly following all the orders of Poroshenko’s henchmen. During this campaign the pressure has significantly increased,” added the representatives of Volyn party cell.
