The Ukrainian authorities do not have any plan how to end the war in the east of the country. This was stated on the air of “Pryamyi” TV channel by the chairman of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko.

“Despite the rightness of the President’s slogans at the session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Ukrainian authorities have no plans how to end the war,” he said.

According to the MP, Petro Poroshenko did not know how to resolve the conflict in the east, when he promised to end the war in a few weeks, or when he signed the Minsk agreements.

At the same time, commenting on the possibility of introducing a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas, the representative of UKROP has stressed that the authorities should first take into consideration all possible consequences of such actions. Given that Russia has its veto power at the UN Security Council, it is unlikely that it will allow “blue helmets” to the occupied territories under conditions favorable for Ukraine.

“The main thing here is not to fall for the kinks proposed by the Russian Federation on the one part and the European community – on the other,” remarked Taras Batenko.

In the opinion of the MP, it is too early to talk about the introduction of international peacekeepers in Donbas, as concrete decisions may take a long time after the officials’ statements.

Earlier, the Head of Kyiv City Organization of UKROP, Chairman of the Board of “Maidan of Foreign Affairs” Fund Bohdan Yaremenko has stated that after deploying UN peacekeeping mission in Donbass, Ukraine will be forced to pay for the maintenance of terrorists.
