The draft judicial reform submitted for consideration of Parliament cannot be adopted in the form it is available now. This was stated by the MP from UKROP Valentyn Didych on the air of the parliamentary TV channel “Rada”.

“Parliamentarians from UKROP will not vote for such an unprepared law in its present form” stressed Valentyn Didych.

The MP has noted that the draft reform should be finalized in order to be perceived by society. That is why changes to the reformed codes should take into account numerous amendments that do not gain enough votes due to the lacking consensus, understanding and unity in the session hall.

According to Valentyn Didych, initiated legislative changes have many gaps. In particular, no document describes the mechanism for the selection of cases by judges of the Supreme Court. This creates preconditions for selective justice, since judges will be able to choose cases on their own accord or following instructions from above.

The MP has suggested that the authorities are in a hurry with this reform on the eve of the elections in order to be able to get rid of their political opponents using the courts.

In this regard, the politician has recalled that at the time the representatives of UKROP at all levels have been under pressure precisely due to the court decisions made by special order: “Our political force have felt the negative effects of the so-called wheels of state. These included the cancellation of candidates’ registration, detention, and fines, and so on,” he stressed.

As it is known, earlier the UKROP party has stated that the proposed amendments to the Commercial Code, the Civil Procedure Code, the Code of Administrative Proceedings and a number of legislative acts will open up a field for judges’ abuse and limit people’s rights to judicial protection.
