The “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” will nominate candidates for the first elections of deputies and heads of village, town and city councils of the united territorial communities, which will be held on October 29. Such a decision was adopted by the 13th UKROP Party Congress that took place on September 12 in Kyiv. The head of the UKROP political council, MP Taras Batenko called the future will expression strategically important for UKROP.
“Following the results of the elections in UTC in December 2016 and April 2017, UKROP has become one of the five most successful parties in terms of the number of deputies and heads of the united territorial communities. The rating we received allows us to claim seats in Parliament. But for this it is necessary to continue developing the party network. And the elections in the UTC give us such an opportunity,” said Taras Batenko.
The politician has stressed that despite the fact that the party was created only two years ago, it has a decent representation in the Verkhovna Rada (seven MPs), as well as in regional, city and district councils, and now – in the councils of UTC. This lays great responsibility on the UKROP representatives in front of voters. “With our activity in the governmental bodies and our political position, we should confirm that we have the right to represent the interests of voters, which they have delegated to us,” added the head of UKROP.
It is to be recalled, on October 29 there will be the first local elections of deputies and heads of village, town and city councils of the united territorial communities. They will be held in 201 UTC in all regions of Ukraine.
