In Ivano-Frankivsk region, a unique camp for children with diabetes has been organized. The social program for rehabilitation of children with this disease was initiated by the MP from the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” Oleksandr Shevchenko.
“I know that these children sometimes do not have the most necessary thing – medicines. As an MP I will do everything to change this situation. Insulin dependent children should always feel our support. Without any hesitation we have created a recreation camp for the children in Prykarpattya (Pre-Carpathian region). Together with the children their parents may also have a rest, leaving domestic troubles and constant tension far away,” says Oleksandr Shevchenko.
During one week children have had a rest at the ski resort “Bukovel”. The program of the camp for children with diabetes was practically no different from that of the Artek-Bukovel. The guests could enjoy interesting games, master classes, musical lessons, bowling, excursions, and chairlifts.
This year in total thirty insulin dependent children visited “Bukovel”. According to Oleksandr Shevchenko, this social camp will become annual. This is the only opportunity for sick children to relax and improve their health. Normal camps are not suitable for them because children need regular care and regular medication. And in “Bukovel” they may have a rest with their parents. And all this is absolutely for free.
