Oleksandr Tyvodar: My detention is a political order

In the evening on August 10 Lutsk city district court released the UKROP member, head of the public organization “Guard of Order”, deputy chairman of Volyn Regional Association of Afghan War veterans Oleksandr Tyvodar from custody under personal surety. The court took into account the detainee’s state of health, as well as the fact that he did not hide from the investigation and has only positive characteristics.

The prosecutor’s request to keep the UKROP representative in custody was not satisfied. Oleksandr Tyvodar was obliged not to leave Lutsk within two months.

Court decisions was met with applause in the session hall.

While the UKROP member sees political motives in his detention.

“This is definitely a political order, because when I was detained, the owner of the edition “Volyn 24” was standing there across the road and filming everything with his phone. Is it a coincidence? – said Oleksandr Tyvodar after the court session. “Neither in the car nor in my house they have found anything suspicious.”

He has also stressed that in his house some patrons for hunting weapons were found, which he had bought lawfully. Besides, the civic activist has denied his involvement in wiretapping some individuals, he is accused of by the law enforcers, and has expressed hope that pre-trial investigation would arrange everything back to order.

It is to be recalled, Tyvodar was detained on August 8 on the basis of a fake criminal proceeding, which was opened by the officers of the Security Service in Zakarpattya region. The law enforcers have served him and four other persons with charge papers under article 263 of the Criminal Code (illegal handling of weapns).
