The law enforcement agencies should open proceedings on the use of physical force against the relatives of missing and captive military by the workers of the public company “Municipal Guard” in Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. This is stated in the official appeal of the MPs from UKROP to the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov. At the same time, parliamentarians called on the head of the ministry to carry out an official inspection on the legality of the actions of local law-enforcement officers in connection with the failure to submit information on the committed crime to the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations (URPI).

“We ask to carry out official inspection of the lawfulness of the actions of the officers of the Metallurgical Police Department of Kriviy Rih Police of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region for the violation of the requirements of the CPC of Ukraine regarding immediate recording of information on the committed offenses,” states the deputies’ appeal.

As the document says, on July 26, 2017, the relatives of servicemen were denied to participate in the regular plenary meeting of Kryviy Rih City Council, where the issue of providing assistance to the families of the killed and disabled ATO soldiers, captives and missing persons was considered. Despite the fact that the deputy of the City Council from UKROP Mykola Kolesnyk had submitted all corresponding lists to the apparatus in time, the representatives of the public company “Municipal Guard” did not let the soldiers’ relatives to the session hall, resorting to gross insults and using physical force. The representatives of the National Police present there at that time did not interfere in the situation and did not stop the offense. According to the MPs from UKROP, the employees of the Metallurgical Department of the National Police in Kriviy Rih have not yet started criminal proceedings and have not reported about the crime to the URPI, contrary to the requirements of the current CCP.

The appeal was signed by the MPs Taras Batenko, Oleksandr Shevchenko, Viktor Shevchenko, Oleksandr Dubinin, Vitaliy Kupriy and Iryna Konstankevych.
