On August 2, at 4 o’clock in the morning a Mercedes-Benz minibus, which belongs to the deputy of Henichesk City Council from the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” Petro Malyovany, fired. The car was parked near the house where the UKROP member lives. The employees of the fire department put the fire out, however the minibus has burnt to the ground. Now the investigative group of Henichesk Police is working at the scene of the incident.
Petro Malyovany relates this incident to his deputy activity and considers it as a deliberate arson. According to the deputy, at about 4 a.m. he heard a loud pat outside. When he and his family ran outdoors, he noticed that the back window of the minibus was broken, and the fire had already covered the car interior. Petro Malyovany believes that behind the minibus, where an epicenter of fire was, the short circuit could not occur, and therefore the case resembles a deliberate arson. In addition, at the time when the fire started his neighbors heard a sound of a car, which quickly drove away.
“I have repeatedly questioned the use of the budget funds for non-targeted purposes, embezzlement and money laundering of the public funds at the accounts of communal enterprises in Henichesk. I think that they want to threaten me, but they won’t be able to do it!” said the deputy.
It should be noted that on August 1, Petro Malyovany initiated convening of an extraordinary session for consideration of the issues regarding verification of the activities of the public enterprise “Henichesk City Beach” on the Naberezhna Street, 40, namely the lawfulness of the use of land of this communal enterprise by the City Mayor. The session did not take place, as it was not very pleasing to the interested parties, especially in the midst of the holiday season.
According to the chairman of Kherson regional organization of UKROP Vitaliy Bohdanov, due to the fact of arson of a minibus “Mercedes Vito”, which belongs to the deputy of Henichesk City Council, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of the Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Deliberate destruction or damage to property”. Police has reported that the necessary expertise is assigned and immediate investigative actions are conducted in order to establish the circumstances of events.
