The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs should check the facts indicating biased actions of the employees of the Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police in Poltava region with a view to bring the representatives of the political party “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” to administrative responsibility.
This is stated in the official requests of the MPs from UKROP Taras Batenko, Oleksandr Dubinin, Vitaliy Kupriy, Oleksandr Shevchenko, Iryna Konstankevych, Valentyn Didych and Victor Shevchenko, addressed to the Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko and the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.
“The representatives of the law enforcement agencies, who are deliberately pursuing oppositional politicians at the order from above, should bear responsibility according to the law,” commented on the Head of the UKROP political council Taras Batenko.
It concerns, in particular, the Deputy Chairman of Shyshatsky District Council Volodymyr Chmyr and the Secretary of Zinkivsky City Council Volodymyr Chykalo, against whom a number of fake administrative protocols were drawn up by the local law enforcement agencies. The UKROP members were accused of not having declared a conflict of interest, when they didn’t leave the session hall while being elected for senior positions. According to the available information, some officials also intend to initiate identical allegations against Secretary of Globyno City Council, UKROP representative Svitlana Lazarenko.
The illegal actions of Poltava law enforcement officers are proved by the decision of Shyshatsky District Court, Zinkivsky District Court and the Appeal Court of Poltava region.
“We ask to check the facts stated in the appeal as for the elements of a crime in the actions of the aforementioned representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police of Ukraine in Poltava region according to the art. 364 (abuse of power or office) or art. 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (excess of authority or official authority),” state the official requests of the MPs from UKROP.
