Civic Network OPORA has prepared a report on the discipline of the MPs. During the period of two and a half years of the work of the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII convocation there were no deputies in Parliament who have participated in all votes without exception. While participation in plenary sessions and voting for legislative initiatives is the main function of the elected people’s representatives, so this indicator demonstrates how responsible the parliamentarians are, as well as their attitude to work.

Unlike the results of written or electronic registration, the fact of participation in voting shows actual activity of the MP during consideration of all the bills – states the OPORA website.

“Among non-factional deputies, if not to take into account the head of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, an example is a majoritarian MP Victor Shevchenko from Ivano-Frankivsk region. During one year of cadence, he has missed only 1.6% of votes,” says the study.
