Creation of equal civilized conditions on the market of the used cars will bring it out of the shadows and ensure payments to the state budget. Instead of this, the authorities have launched a new wave of repression against owners of the cars with foreign registration. The activist of NGO “West Ukrainian Association of Transit Cars Owners” (ZAVTRA) Mykhailo Katruk has written it on his Facebook page.

“I am completely against any violation of law. But I am also categorically against, when these laws are written only for the caste of the chosen ones, and not for the people. While there are laws for the people – the bills № 5561 and № 5562 – providing creation of civilized, democratic and market rules of the game for EVERYBODY in Ukraine,” wrote Mykhailo Katruk. According to the activist, the entire business model of extortion of the Ukrainian automobile lobby is based on the constant use of power levers and manual laws for obtaining extra profits. Domestic automobile manufacturers are trying to deprive the citizens of the opportunity to buy high-quality foreign cars, whereas in any European state they would have long turned bankrupt, suffering great losses.

Mykhailo Katruk has noted that the first final decision of the Supreme Administrative Court imposing a fine of 420 thousand hryvnias and confiscation of a car with foreign registration would become a kind of precedent, and the courts will be able to copy it and stamp decisions against all the car owners. Thus, the authorities stopped playing the imitation of democracy and launched a new wave of repressions against foreign car owners.

“We ask and demand the only thing – equal rules of the game for everyone!” said Mykhailo Katruk.

It is to be recalled, beforehand the Supreme Administrative Court of Kyiv, took the decision to impose a fine of 420 thousand hryvnias and confiscate a car with foreign registration from a driver. The decision was made by the highest instance, and therefore it would become a precedent for all the courts to follow while considering such cases.
