On July 22-23 an automobile rally “Mykola Zaporozhets” was held in Zakarpattya, and it was organized by the NGO “West Ukrainian Association of Transit Cars Owners” and the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP”.
The purpose of the rally is to support the bills № 5561 and № 5562, which will contribute to formation of a civilized market of used cars in Ukraine.
The rally started on July 22. Head of Vynoradiv branch of UKROP Yevhen Ukhach together with the UKROP members Vladyslav Yatsyna, Pavlo Goshovsky, Victor Ukhach, Mykhailo Marian and the local residents met “Mykola Zaporozhets” in Beregovo. From there they went to the checkpoint “Luzhanka” and “Vylok”, Vinogradiv and Khust.
On Sunday, July 23, “Mykola Zaporozhets” reached Uzhgorod. At the entrance to the regional center it was met by the head of UKROP in Zakarpattya Vlasta Negrya, and the UKROP members Vitaliy Popovych, Roman Zaviyskyi, Yaroslav Stasyo, Yuriy Mokhnal, Petro Pekar.
The first stop was made at the car market in the village. Motorists were willingly taking photos with “Mykola Zaporozhets” and the activists told about the UKROP’s bills, which are aimed to form a civilized market of used cars.
“The first bill provides abolition of Euro-5 and introduction of technical inspection instead of this restriction. The second one is about customs clearance at preferential rates for cars with foreign registration irrespective of the environmental standard and the year of production, except for the Russian cars,” said the head of UKROP in Zakarpattya Vlasta Negrya.
The next stops of “Mykola Zaporozhets” are shopping mall “Tokyo” and Petofi Square.
After the meeting with Uzhgorod residents, participants of the rally went to Perechyn and to the checkpoint in Velyke Berezne. There the UKROP members Vlasta Negrya, Vitaliy Popovych, Roman Zaidel, Mykhailo Pekar, Mykhailo Skryp, Taras Raydych have met with the local residents.
Reference. The old “Zaporozhets” with Polish registration nicknamed “Mykola” has already been under the Verkhovna Rada, as an example of senselessness of excessive rates of customs clearance for cars. In Poland, activists of the NGO “ZAVTRA” have got customs clearance and registered this car for $ 250. Moreover, Zaporozhets does not meet a Euro 5 eco-standard, as currently required by the Ukrainian legislation (mandatory Euro-5 compliance is one of the main factors of the high rates in Ukraine). At the same time, in the EU, such a car can be cleared for about 40% of its cost, and in Ukraine – for 300%. Now, in order to return the Ukrainian registration to Zaporozhets it is necessary to pay 3 thousand dollars. To avoid this, UKROP have registered two bills № 5561 and № 5562.
