On July 15, a resident of Korostyshiv, member of the UKROP party Yevhen Didkivskiy was attacked with a weapon. Around 15.45 at the playground, where he was walking with his friends and their child, a motorcycle stopped. The driver of the vehicle shot a few times straightforward at the UKROP member. The injured was taken to Korostyshiv district hospital. He is currently in resuscitation. Doctors are trying to save him. Yevhen’s condition is critical, but stable.
The close friends and party fellows of the victim believe that the attack is revenge due to the fact that Yevhen together with his brother Viktor, also a member of the UKROP party, tried to ensure that the law enforcement stopped the activities of a criminal group headed by Andriy Lavrynenko.
In Korostyshiv this group was terrorizing local residents, trying to put pressure on the entrepreneurs for profit. Brothers Didkivskiy and their associates have repeatedly appealed to the law enforcement agencies in order to stop criminal tyranny, reported the facts of crimes, and appealed to the media.
In April this year Viktor Didkivskiy was severely beaten. According to the victim, the reason is his civic position and fight against the impunity of bandits.
With the request for help, Victor and Yevhen Didkivskiy have appealed to the MP from UKROP Vitaliy Kupriy, who has addressed the deputy’s inquiry to the Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. In late May the leader of the criminal group was detained by the law enforcement agencies.
UKROP relates the attack on Yevhen Didkivskiy to his activities in establishing the rule of law in Zhytomyr region. Thus, in the beginning of July, after interference of the brothers illegal sand mining was stopped.
It is to be recalled, UKROP has appealed to the Interior Minister Arsen Avakov with the requirement to promptly and efficiently investigate the attack on Yevhen Didkivskiy and bring the guilty to justice.
