The acting Lutsk Mayor, deputy of the City Council Ihor Polischuk has declared that he leaves office of the Council secretary on his own accord and prior to the scheduled date. This became known on July 3, during the regular XXVI session of the City Council. Ihor Polishchuk stated it before the beginning of the plenary session. According to the UKROP member, he leaves his office in order to stop political manipulation and prevent destabilization of the situation in the city.
Ihor Polishchuk has stressed that after having spoken to the Head of Volyn Regional Council Ihor Palytsya, he decided to take part in the early mayoral elections. As it is known, the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada has voted for calling the elections on September, 24 this year.
According to Ihor Polischuk, with his actions he shows example to the former secretary of the Council Yulia Vusenko so that she could let another secretary work properly until the elections, prevent manipulation and accusations of using the administrative resource. “Our political or any other ambitions cannot be above the interests of Lutsk and its residents. The team that almost has plundered the city now wants to return, but they will not succeed,” said Ihor Polishchuk.
He thanked the Council officials and Deputy Mayors for their high professionalism.
“I am convinced that our team will win this election and we will continue to work together, complete our undertakings and implement the new ones for the benefit of the city,” said Ihor Polishchuk.
It is to be added that the deputies of the “Samopomich” and “Solidarity” factions in Lutsk City Council did not support the voluntary resignation of the secretary of the City Council Ihor Polischuk during the meeting of the permanent commissions.
