The MPs from UKROP will take part in preparation of a revised bill on providing people with individual gas metering devices. This was reported by the MP and UKROP member Valentyn Didych on the results of the meeting of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety. During the meeting, five legislative initiatives aimed at normalizing this issue were considered at once. Among them – the bill № 6277-1 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Provision of Commercial Gas Metering” concerning installation of individual meters for household consumers of natural gas. This document has been submitted by the deputies from the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” Taras Batenko, Iryna Konstankevych, Vitaliy Kupriy, Viktor Shevchenko, Oleksandr Dubinin, Valentyn Didych and Oleksandr Shevchenko.
“The committee has selected three of five initiatives, including ours. They will be finalized and submitted to the committee by authorship of all those who have prepared three original documents,” said Valentyn Didych.
The final version of the bill will contain provision on providing household consumers with individual gas meters instead of a communal meter (the requirement of UKROP – Ed.), prohibition to cut off gas in the house in case of residents’ disagreement with installation of a communal accounting device. In addition, it is planned to stipulate the norm according to which the communal meter can be installed only with the consent of 75% of the house’s residents, to set up a compensation mechanism for installation of the meter if the residents do it at their own expense, and the ways to protect the most vulnerable groups of people.
