The MPs from the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” have submitted amendments to the draft law № 6327 on State Financial Guarantees for Provision of Medical Services and Medicines, which is being prepared for the second reading.

Iryna Konstankevych, Taras Batenko, Oleksandr Shevchenko, Oleksandr Dubinin, Valentyn Didych, Vitaliy Kupriy and Viktor Shevchenko propose to pay fully from the state budget the coverage rate (paid by the state) and the rate of co-payment (paid by the patient) for treatment of disabled persons, direct participants of the liquidation of the consequences of Chornobyl accident and victims of the catastrophe, citizens who participated in liquidation of other nuclear accidents, nuclear tests, who have suffered from radioactive exposure due to any accident, violation of rules of exploitation of equipment with radioactive substances, storage and disposal of radioactive materials.

In addition, free medical services and medicines should be provided to the children under the age of 18, the elderly (pensioners and those who will reach the retirement age within no more than a year and a half), as well as veterans of work.

“Our proposals are aimed at ensuring that the poorest and the most vulnerable citizens will not be left without help after the reform. If the amendments are not taken into account, we will not support the bill in the second reading and we call on the President to veto it in case of adoption in Parliament,” said the MP Iryna Konstankevych.

The proposed amendments to the draft law № 6327 should be considered by the Healthcare Committee.
