Ukraine should introduce a special regime of border crossing with Russia, and talks about visas for Russians is just a manipulation of the Ukrainian authorities on feelings of patriotic citizens.
The Head of Kyiv city organization of the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP”, Chairman of the Board of Maidan of Foreign Affairs Fund Bohdan Yaremenko has expressed such an opinion in a talk show “Straight up” on the air of ZIK TV channel.
“Introduction of visa regime with Russia is just a political game of the Ukrainian authorities, who are manipulating the feelings of patriotic citizens. Visas will have no effect, it is completely unnecessary thing,” said the UKROP representative.
According to Bohdan Yaremenko, visas are only bureaucratic red tape that is not an adequate response to the aggressor. Instead of this, we should cut off diplomatic relations and introduce a special regime of trips for citizens, which provides complete prohibition to visit the temporarily occupied territories, the Russian Federation and its allies by all Ukrainian officials, persons who hold elective posts, representatives of the authorities, law enforcement agencies and military forces. The exceptions may be made only in case of the tasks of national importance. And special conditions for mutual trips of citizens of Ukraine and Russia should be also introduced – with individual permits of the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. This will not only protect Ukraine from unwanted flow of Russians, but will also help to protect our citizens.
The UKROP member has also stressed that our country should move away from the Russian Federation and set a goal to win the war against it.
