The MP Ihor Lapin spreads unfounded accusations against the representatives of the “Ukrainian Association of Patriots – UKROP” of burning his family’s car. This was stated by the MP, head of the UKROP political council Taras Batenko.

“This is stuff and nonsense. Regional police denies his words and is talking about purely technical reasons – short in a wiring of the car, and nothing more than it,” said Taras Batenko commenting on the situation to the journalists on June 8.

The politician has also added that with his emotional expressions the representative of the Narodnyi Front (People’s Front) is trying to cast a shadow over the patriotic opposition party in whose ranks there are many ATO veterans, volunteers and decent people who are now successfully working in local councils, assuring the victory of the political force in elections.

“We are not engaged in looting, covering offenders or selling cars and woods, as some MPs may afford, we do not cover amber diggers, and on the contrary – we fight against this mafia. Mr. Lapin was wrong and it is obvious that he should apologize to the UKROP party representatives. Everyone should be responsible for his own moral character,” summed up Taras Batenko.

The representative of UKROP also rejects the statement that Ihor Lapin’s words may be caused by his psychological state.

It is to be recalled Ihor Lapin has repeatedly been involved in scandals. According to the former deputy commander of the Aidar battalion Ihor Rytsko, before getting seat in Parliament Ihor Lapin earned his life bribing judges, smuggling alcohol and cigarettes, legalizing cars and dealing with woods and amber. He is also known due to his father-judge named Sasha Bucks. In his declaration for 2015 the MP from Volyn region has shown seven plots of land, several apartments, a house, two cars and 1.4 million hryvnias in cash.
