The “Ukrainian Patriots Association – UKROP” and other patriotic political parties can disrupt an attempt to usurp power in the country, if they win the elections. This was stated by the Head of Volyn Regional Council, member of the UKROP party presidium Ihor Palytsya during a meeting with heads of regional party organizations and most active party members on May 19.
“Even Yanukovych did not allow himself such attempts to usurp power. I am talking, in particular, about the administrative pressure during elections in territorial communities. We have a chance to change the country, if we win the election. If we lose it, the power will be usurped and we won’t have another opportunity,” said Ihor Palytsya.
The politician has stressed that after the Maidan Parliament has not adopted any law to improve the social and economic life in the country. Moreover, the authorities are trying to cause a quarrel in society, raising controversial issues.
“They are obviously trying to bring it to the civil conflict, and then to introduce martial law so that no election would no longer be needed,” said the Head of Volyn Regional Council.
Ihor Palytsya have also called on the party members to work more with people so that in autumn at the elections in communities UKROP could ameliorate its rating of 9.3%, which has been got according to the results of the municipal elections in April.
“We should train our party muscles so that in autumn we could reach the 20%,” the politician said.
At the same time the MP from Volyn Iryna Konstankevych said that the regional party organizations should be on the edge of life, communicating with the community.
“We have already had the victory in the regions. Just yesterday the UKROP representative was elected as a chairman of Kivertsi district council in Volyn region. We hope that the position of our party in Volyn will only be strengthened and we will be an example for other regions, proving that the authority of regional organizations should be established with a daily hard work. And it needs close contact with people and work in the regions,” said Iryna Konstankevych.
